ROSE GOLD RINGS

Rose gold was developed in the early 19th century by the court jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé in Russia. He incorporated the exquisite colour of the new gold alloy into the renowned Fabergé Eggs collection, making revolutionary progress and popularity for the new metal.

During the early Art-Deco period the jewellery house Cartier created a "Trinity" ring,   featuring entwined bands of white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold. This continued the growing popularity of rose gold and influenced jewellery fashion in the 1920s'.

In the mid 20th century platinum was a sparse metal due to the military needs during the World War II. Although the jewellery industry was suppressed during this period, later on in the 1950's - 1960's the rose gold became an alternative option to platinum. Beautiful large cocktail rings were created during this period giving rose gold a chance to flourish again.

During the 2010's the rose gold got "back on stage" and continues to be a very popular choice for wedding and engagement rings. Plain or diamond set - the rose gold ring will always look stylish and chic!
